Nicholas Williams, Activities Co-ordinator, at Lindisfarne Care Home, said: “Our residents are really enjoying being involved in the project – from helping to organise and sort the donations to preparing the hampers ready to be hand-delivered to people in the local area. We feel this is a lovely way for our residents to give something back to the community and share the spirit of Harvest Festival.”
He added: “We have already started receiving some fantastic donations and are continuing to encourage members of the local community, families and friends to get involved by donating any suitable non-perishable food items or toiletries. I would also like to add a thank you to everyone who has donated so far and that it’s vastly appreciated. We’re really looking forward to seeing how many hampers we can put together for our local community.”
