They need plenty of space to grow into strong, bushy plants. Just dig a hole slightly bigger than their existing container, place some well-rotted compost in the base, carefully ease them out of their pots, or if you’ve bought bare root, tease the apart and pop them in te ground. Backfill with soil, firm in around the stem and water well. If planting in groups, space about 25 cm apart. Do the same with bi-annual sweet Williams, sweet rocket and for-get-me-nots.
