The youngsters had been busy all summer, putting pen to paper, and they deservedly received their awards from authors at St. Helen’s Masonic Hall, on Regent Street.
The festival’s Director, S. J. Martin, said she was “very impressed” with the number and quality of the entries.
She said: “There are lots of young, talented budding authors and poets out there.”
The event featured a stellar line-up of speakers, including town broadcaster and author Alan Wright as well as the prolific, international best-selling author Griff Hosker, RT Taylor and the ever-popular Hartlepool-born historical fiction writer SJ Martin.
It also featured readings by the multi-talented Gibraltarian poet Gabriel Moreno as well as workshops, signings and book sales.
