Masons Funeral Directors in Hartlepool will host a celebratory event in honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee later this month.
Masons, which is situated on Park Road, will be welcoming members of the local community to visit the branch to enjoy a slice of cake and a cup of tea on Tuesday 31 May and Wednesday 1 June between 10 am and 2 pm.

This year marks the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a milestone that many people are looking forward to celebrating. The extended bank holiday weekend (Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June) provides the perfect opportunity for communities to come together and enjoy the historic event.
The Queen is the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service.
Julia Masshedar, Funeral Service Arranger at Masons Funeral Directors, said: “We can’t wait to welcome members of our local community along to our branch to celebrate this historic event, have a chat and of course enjoy a slice of cake and a cup of tea too!
“The team at Mason’s has decorated the windows with the Union Jack bunting ahead of the Jubilee weekend. We have also set up a Jubilee Celebration Tree inside the branch. The tree has the Jubilee theme with the emblem and crown tags. We are inviting people to come along and write a message on a crown tag and place this on the tree.
“We will also have Jubilee colouring in pages and colouring crayons for children to enjoy.”
