THE Harrogate Autumn Flower Show is shaping up to be a fantastic celebration of the season and this autumn marks a golden milestone as the show celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Originally staged in Harrogate Valley Gardens, the show soon grew in scale and reputation. In 1983 it moved to the Exhibition Halls, expanding its range of nurseries, exhibitors and competitive classes.
Further growth led to another relocation in 1995 to the Great Yorkshire Showground, where the event continued to evolve, before moving again in 2001 to the grounds of the beautiful Newby Hall and Gardens.
So, whether you’re a keen gardener, planning a family day out, or simply love the outdoors, there’s something for everyone.
Marvel at the giant veg, impressive harvests, and prize-winning produce; explore Newby Hall”s interiors, creatively styled with stunning floral installations and get inspired by expert growers and discover new ideas for your own garden.
Live demonstrations and talks from floristry and gardening experts, as well as a chance to tick off that plant list, including tools, gifts, homeware and a selection of food and drink
Tickets can be bought at the gate. Gates open at 9.30am and close at 5pm. Booking online in advance will save £5 per ticket, if booked before September 1. Adult £24 pre booked (£29), children and carers free. General parking is free, with VIP costing £15. tickets.flowershow.org.uk
