Gilbert O’ Sullivan, now a sprightly 79-year-old, plays Billingham’s Forum Theatre on Thursday, 29 October as part of his “60 years of Music” tour.
O’ Sullivan was a chart regular during the early to mid 1970s with a string of hits including “Claire”, “Nothing Rhymed”, “Get Down”, “Matrimony” and a song which is now regarded as a pop classic “Alone Again Naturally.”
He has also released a staggering 20 albums during his career.
Speaking on Facebook, Gilbert told fans: “Okay – with the release of the new album, I’ll be going on the road which I think is one of the most important ways to promote the album – get out there and let people see you and hear you. It’s a good way also to get pointers as to what they think of your album. When I meet people after the show, I always look to find out what it is they liked about it – or maybe’s didn’t like about it. I find that always interesting.”
