It takes place at the Centre for Independent Living (CIL), in Burbank Street, on Friday, 9 October from 9.30am to 3pm.
Visitors can enjoy live music, choir performances, creative art activities, chair aerobics, a schools’ art competition and information displays – along with opportunities to meet organisations offering wellbeing advice and support.
A spokesperson said: “One of the highlights of the day will be the presentation of the 2026 Hartlepool Community Wellbeing Champions Awards, which recognises townspeople whose commitment and compassion help improve the wellbeing of others.”
There will also be free tea and coffee, and a free lunch of soup and a bun at 12pm.
The event is organised by Hartlepool Borough Council in partnership with organisations across the community including Healthwatch Hartlepool and Hartlepool Community Trust.
Councillor Christine Wiley, chair of Hartlepool Borough Council’s Adult Services and Public Health Committee, said: “World Mental Health Day is an opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the many positive ways we can support our wellbeing. Whether it’s being active, learning something new, enjoying music and creativity, or simply spending time with other people, the event showcases the many things that can help us stay mentally healthy.”
She added: “We are also looking forward to recognising this year’s Community Wellbeing Champions, whose dedication and kindness make a real difference to the lives of people across Hartlepool. I would encourage people to come along for what promises to be a really enjoyable and uplifting day.”
