Griff Hosker and Breffni Martin spent more than 20 happy years at Dyke House School before moving onto higher things – but, during that time, both shared a love of history.
Griff, who taught English, has gone on to become one of the country’s most prolific authors with more than 200 books published, ranging from the Vikings to World War II.
Breffni, who taught history but now writes as S.J. Martin, specialises in exciting medieval fiction and is about to publish her 20th book. She says that Griff has been a shining example of how to become a successful author
She said: “He has also been a great mentor and help to several up-and-coming Historical Fiction authors like myself.”
Both authors told their stories about how they became successful authors at the Hartlepool Headland Literature Festival (LitFest) which was held at St Helen’s Masonic Hall, Regent Street on the Headland.
A lively programme also featured book sales and signings.
