Hartlepool Life reported last month on Qualitech Environmental Ltd’s proposals for a new £65million specialist waste treatment and energy recovery facility on land at Tofts Road West, on Brenda Road.
The company has now confirmed three dates for this week, which will allow people to find out more about the plans and ask any questions they may have.
The first will take place on Thursday, June 11, at Hornby Park in Elizabeth Way from 3pm to 7pm which will be followed by an event on Friday, June 12, from 2pm to 6pm at Community Hub South in Wynyard Road.
The third and final event will take place at Seaton Carew Community Hub in Station Lane from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday, June 16.
Qualitech has also confirmed that, to allow more time for residents to consider the plans and provide feedback, the deadline for comments has now been extended to Friday, June 26.
Residents can provide feedback by completing a form online at www.toftsroadefw.co.uk/questionnaire, by emailing [email protected] or by completing a printed copy of the questionnaire at a drop-in event.
Concerns have also been raised by council representatives for the Seaton Ward, where the new plant would be located, who said their residents had various worries over the scheme.
Qualitech says the project would represent a £65m investment and create 40 permanent skilled jobs once operational, along with 45 during the three-year construction phase.
