Alice House Hospice’s Ward Jackson Bark took place at Grayfields on Sunday after being relocated from Ward Jackson Park at the last minute.
Hartlepool Life photographer Michael Gant captured these lovely images of the family-friendly event which proved a fantastic day out for dogs and their owners, all while raising vital funds to support local hospice care.
Meanwhile, Alice House has reiterated its appeal for volunteers to help support its “overwhelmed” retail team after its shop on the Headland has been forced to close some days due to staffing shortages.
An Alice House spokesperson said: “Our stretched Retail Team is under additional pressure, due to a shortage of vital volunteers to ensure the success of our shops, which provide vital funding for local hospice services. This has resulted in unscheduled shop closures for whole days, which directly impacts hospice revenue.”
They added: “We are so grateful to our existing volunteers who are working beyond their usual capacity to make ends meet, but this is not sustainable and they need help. If anyone reading this would like to find out more about volunteering – we would love to hear from you.”

Alice House Hospice is inviting the community to come together in remembrance through its annual Forget Me Not Appeal, a campaign that gives people the opportunity to celebrate loved ones who are no longer with us, while helping to fund vital hospice care across Hartlepool.
The appeal encourages supporters to make a dedication in memory of someone special.
Each person taking part will receive a decorative Forget Me Not flower, which will be displayed in the hospice gardens on Saturday 27 June.
Participants are invited to visit the hospice between 10am and 12pm to collect their flower and spend time reflecting on treasured memories.
