The town’s Scouts have worked alongside the Friends of Hartlepool Station (FoHS) group on their Vision project to improve the environment in and around the station.
The youngsters were presented with special badges from Hartlepool MP Jonathan Brash at a ceremony at the station, off Church Street.
FoHS chair Colin Griffiths said: “The presentation of badges thanked the scouts groups in Hartlepool for the work alongside our Friends of Hartlepool Station group. Jonathan Brash presented the badges and thanked the group for their hard work and support in improving the environment in and around the station area for travellers arriving and departing the station on both Northern, who sponsored the Platform for Change badges, and Grand Central services to London Kings Cross.”
He added: “Margaret Elliot presented a plaque to the Friends of Hartlepool Station in recognition of the opportunity given to the scouts organisation in and around the Hartlepool area to be involved in the Vision project. Several of the Friends group, Michael Anderson, Secretary, Paul Whittaker, Martin Green and Frank Sherwood were delighted to be present for the presentation.”
In March this year, FoHS unveiled an eye-catching seven-foot-wide panoramic view of old Hartlepool in the waiting room at the rail station.
