Hartlepool RFC Dragons U16s team are gearing up for a “trip of a lifetime” tour to Salou, in Spain, next Easter.
The club is organising a number of fundraising events to get the 21 players there – and are calling on the town’s help!
Vicki Hind, one of the Dragon’s four coaches said: “These lads represent everything good about grassroots rugby, commitment, teamwork, respect and pride in their town. With the players moving into academy rugby after U16s, this will be the last opportunity for the full team to tour together, making the trip even more special.”
She added: “We want every single one of them to experience this tour and, with Hartlepool’s support, we know we can make it happen.”
Fundraising events planned so far include a rugby 7s tournament, taking part in the Boxing Day Dip, car washing and more.
Vciki adds that the club is encouraging town businesses, organisations and individuals to get involved, whether through sponsorship, raffle prizes, donations, or supporting upcoming events.

Vicki says that Hartlepool RFC is proudly one of the only rugby clubs in the country where children don’t pay a penny to play and now is aiming to go one step further by fundraising enough to fully cover the cost of the tour for all the players.
