Headteacher Joanne Wilson officially opened the Helping Hands Community Hub hub, at St. Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School in Stratford Street, which was honoured by the presence of Bishop Stephen, from Hexham and Newcastle Diocese.
She said: “The Helping Hands Hub has been created to provide support for families by offering access to clothing and toys for children, reflecting the school’s commitment to care, community, and Catholic social teaching. In the afternoon, celebrations continued with a community event welcoming parents, carers, and local support agencies.”
Joanne added: “Pupils shared work focused on community support and Catholic social teaching, alongside further performances. The Helping Hands Hub marks another step forward in St Cuthbert’s ongoing commitment to supporting its families and strengthening community connections across Hartlepool.”
The school marked the launch of the initiative with a special Liturgy led by Y5.
