A HARTLEPOOL primary school has become the first in the town to form a Rotakids Club.
Rotary President Anthony Metcalfe and Secretary Alan Lakey visited Throston school, where they were greeted by headmaster, Mark Atkinson, and 60 Year 5 Pupils and their teachers.
The pair gave a brief presentation on Rotary before launching Rotakids.
Mr Atkinson stressed the honour the school was given on becoming the first Rotakids in the town. When the Rotary president asked for any questions, some lively enquiries were made, including a reference to the antique West Hartlepool Rotary Bell from the 1920’s.
The school will be revisited when the pupils have elected their president, secretary and treasurer.
