Heugh Battery Museum volunteer Gordon Peart, created the sign, which references quirky aspects of the town, including Andy Capp, H’Angus The Monkey and even Wagga Dots!
Gordon sent two of the signs to Jeff, who promptly posted a picture of himself with it on his X social media account.
Museum manager Diane Stephens said: “This is a great boost!
It is really good Jeff has posted a picture of himself with the sign and we all would like to thank him for supporting the museum.”
Gordon has previously created a successful version of the sign for the town’s Big Town Tidy Up campaign.
He will be at the museum this Saturday, 4 July to sell copies of the sign to raise funds for the museum.
It forms part of the museum’s 110th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme event which runs from 10am until 3.30pm.
The day will include a special display of artefacts relating to Hartlepool soldier, Serjeant Joseph Hawtin, who was killed in action at the Battle of the Somme, and will be presented by his great-nephew, and historian, Pete Hawtin.
Diane added: “The sign would make a great addition to a home, office, shed or as a gift for expat relatives or friends to remind them of what they are missing, so come and see Gordon on site and help support the museum.”
Jeff Stelling returns to Hartlepool on Thursday, 17 September with his “An Evening With …” show at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre.
