DETECTIVES have arrested a man who approached a Hartlepool teenager as she waited for her school bus.
The 14-year-old girl fled to safety after the incident which happened on Clavering’s Bamburgh Road at 8am on Wednesday, 17 June.
The 30-year-old man, who is described as being “white British”, was taken into police custody for questioning.
Hartlepool District Commander, Acting Superintendent Nick See, said: “Uniformed patrols will continue in the area to provide safety and reassurance to our communities. I would encourage residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour or information that may assist the investigation to Cleveland Police. The safety of our communities remains our priority, and we are committed to working with residents to keep the area safe while enquiries continue.”
