Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life saw scores of runners along the promenade at Seaton Carew on Sunday.
Hartlepool Life photographer Michael Gant was there to capture these colourful images of the big day.
Many people, whose lives have been touched by cancer, were inspired to take part including Racheal Clarke, who said: “Cancer is happening right now which is why I’m taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. I recently lost my Dad and Auntie Kath, and I ran for them.”
Members of the West View Slimming World club added: “We absolutely loved today – dressed as a strawberry! What a great atmosphere! Lots of money raised for such a great cause too.”
The event manager for CRUK’s Hartlepool Race for Life, Dannika Glaister, said she hoped the event would raise £40,000 to help fund lifesaving research.
