“The Fortune” – which was filmed in and around the town – premiered on Channel 5 this week.
The first episode featured dramatic shots of the historic Headland, Elwick village, including The McOrville Inn, the marina, featuring the Limanaki restaurant, Greenbank House, in Stranton, and Hartlepool Train Station.
The drama stars “Poldark’s” Eleanor Tomlinson and Harry Potter’s Matthew Lewis alongside Stephen Tompkinson and Paula Wilcox.
Actors and crew were spotted filming in the town last year and the series is produced by North East-based production company Lonesome Pine and funded by North East Screen, which has offices in Hartlepool and Sunderland.
It joins a long list of films and TV shows that have been filmed in the town with “The Diary of Adrian Mole”, shot in The Grove last month, being the latest.
“The Fortune” is streaming on Channel 5.
