The fun took place at the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool at the town’s marina on Saturday.
Hartlepool Life photographer Michael Gant captured these images of townsfolk enjoying live entertainment, including Hartlepool Brass Band, military displays and community activities on the day.
Councillor Brian Cowie, Armed Forces Champion of Hartlepool Borough Council, said: “I would very much like to thank residents and visitors alike for coming along and supporting this great event. Armed Forces Day is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together and show their appreciation for the men and women who serve, or who have served, in our Armed Forces, as well as the families who support them.”
He added: “Hartlepool has a very proud and long-standing connection with the Armed Forces, and we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our serving personnel, reservists and veterans for their dedication and sacrifice.”
The event was organised by the Hartlepool Armed Forces Liaison Group, the town’s Reserve Army units and cadet detachments in partnership with the museum.
