The town favourites stepped out in front of a packed festival crowd at Lowther Deer Park, in the Lake District, marking a monumental milestone in their musical career.
The band performed on the coveted Roots Stage, an essential showcase for emerging talent curated by Northern music champions Generator, Sonic Futures, soundwaves and BBC Introducing.
Stepping onto the stage at 3.20pm on Saturday, 1 August, the group confidently proved why they are widely regarded as one of the most exciting new musical acts emerging from the Tees Valley.
Having attended the iconic festival for years as ticket-buying music fans, the transition from the crowd to the artist line-up was a surreal moment for the group. They shared a billing on the wider festival weekend alongside global rock and indie powerhouses – including Wolf Alice and Biffy Clyro – and even with their university tutor, who performed with his band The Futureheads.
The five-piece leaned heavily into their high-energy indie-rock sound, treating the festival crowd to an electric live set that included tracks from their acclaimed newly released debut EP, “The Voyage.”
Fresh off their successful festival run, the group is now preparing to bring that stage energy back home to the local circuit. Music fans who missed out on the Lake District fields can catch them live on 15 August at Causeyfest and, later this year, when they headline The Studio on Friday, 30 October.
