The tournament – organised by Property Webmasters – took place at Ramside Hall’s newly refurbished Cathedral Course and was attended by businesses and supporters of the charity who also took part in fundraising initiatives and competitions.
Property Webmasters CEO Jamie Arthur, a long-term charity partner of Alice House, approached the hospice earlier in the year to propose the event, as he was keen to increase the company’s support.
Jamie played a lead role in organising the event, recruiting teams, sourcing prizes and planning the day.
Players enjoyed breakfast together before completing the prestigious course and returning to the clubhouse for a meal and prizegiving presentation.
The winning team on the day was Libellum and Jamie won the Nearest to the Pin competition.
Putting competition winner and another established hospice supporter, Derek Muirhead, donated some signed Middlesbrough FC merchandise which was auctioned on the day, boosting the fundraising total.
The event made profits of around £5,500, all of which is being put to use to fund vital Hospice care.
Julie Hildreth, Fundraising Senior Manager at Alice House, said, “We’ve known Jamie and his team for a long time and their ongoing involvement continues to make a real difference to local families. Business engagement such as this, is vital to sustaining Hospice care and thanks go to Jamie along with all who supported this fantastic and successful event. We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership and are already making plans for a follow up event.”
Jamie added, “It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to be able to raise funds for such an important and great cause – feedback from everyone on the day was overwhelmingly positive and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back next year. I echo the hospice’s message of thanks to everyone for such generosity on the day and in the build-up – it was brilliant.”
Property Webmasters and Alice House plan to return to Ramside Hall for another golf day and will be announcing dates once confirmed.
