Sunday parking charges will be introduced across all Hartlepool Borough Council on-street and off-street parking sites from June 1 – bringing the day in line with the current charging structure for the rest of the week.
In addition, the popular “Free after 3pm” parking promotions at the East Side, Multi-Storey and Basement car parks will come to an end. As a result, standard parking charges will apply until 6pm daily at these locations.
These changes form part of the council’s 2026/27 budget which was approved earlier this year and reflect a requirement for the Car Parking Service to generate additional income in the current financial year. The measures have been going through a statutory legal process prior to their implementation on 1 June.
Residents and visitors are advised to check signage and parking information when using council-managed car parks to ensure they are aware of updated charges and conditions.
