WOW! My weekend in London was all about the music! A small (and very hot) weekend away with my bestie saw us venture around Notting Hill and Portobello Road for a mooch before heading through to Hyde Park to sit and listen to the music. No, we didn’t buy tickets to the annual festival, but we did manage to sit outside and listen to Tinie Tempah and Kesha rock the park before Pitbull featured. Although we didn’t get to hear Pitbull, we did see copious amounts of people in the iconic bald caps to break the world record – and they smashed it with 22,141 caps! It was hilarious to see. But the main reason we visited London was to see My Chemical Romance’s final UK date on their 20th anniversary tour, at Wembley no less – and it’s up there with one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen! The sold-out show featured thousands of us screaming throughout every song, moshing away, and there were plenty of tears shed. Their most iconic songs, including “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)”, “Famous Last Words”, “Teenagers” and, of course, “Welcome To The Black Parade”, completely blew me away. I don’t quite know how to put into words just how incredible they were. To sing with such emotion, with that many people, felt healing yet destroyed me all at once. I can’t stop listening to them – I’m currently living in my MCR T-shirt, and it’s definitely one that I’ll be showing people the videos for months to come. It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve been to a gig or concert; maybe I need to book lots more in!
