A spokesperson for the band said: “Independent live music only happens when the community shows up. Every ticket makes a difference—let’s pack the room and make it a night to remember!”
Doors open for the gig at 7.30pm on Friday, 30 October and tickets cost £10.
Remember SLEEPER?
Well, the former Britpop favourites are back on the road and playing NEWCASTLE’S DIGITAL on 19 March next year.
It will be their biggest tour since reforming almost 10 years ago and will feature TURIN BRAKES as support. The band’s sixth album “End of the World” is due for release in February.
“I’m really looking forward to taking this album out on the road,” says frontwoman Louise Wener. “These new songs mean a lot to me, and I think they’re going to sound fantastic live. There’s something wonderful about finally playing them in a room with people and making that emotional connection with a crowd. We’re so excited that Turin Brakes are joining us – we’ve been fans for a long time, so it’s going to be a special combination.”
SLEEPER emerged in the mid-90s, scoring eight Top 40 singles across three Top 10 albums and selling more than one million records. They toured to sell-out crowds across the UK, US and Japan, played the main stages at Reading and Glastonbury, toured with Blur and supported R.E.M. at Milton Keynes Bowl, as well as touring the US with Elvis Costello.
Fronted by Louise, the band became one of the defining British guitar bands of the 1990s before splitting in 1998. The band re-formed in 2017 and returned with The Modern Age in 2019 -their first studio album in more than 20 years, which reached the UK Top 20 and was followed by sold-out UK tours and major festival appearances.
