TODAY marks five years since we lost Danny to a sudden cardiac arrest. Danny loved everything Hartlepool – the charity was set up in his name and memory. We think he would be amazed at what has been achieved and be so very proud of the way the town has rallied to make this happen.
The generosity of people is outstanding. Only this week, we were invited to accept our third large donation from Throston Golf Club Seniors. Richard Russell has been the chairman of the Seniors group for the last three years and nominated DS43 as his charity during his tenure.
The total raised and donated, over the last three years, is a massive £1,625 – the final donation of £625 being presented last week. Not only have they raised this fabulous amount but, in addition, have supported us by selling raffle tickets. The club also keeps one of our charity donation buckets in the bar. The seniors have engaged with our CPR and defibrillator awareness sessions and the club have also purchased a defibrillator to be kept in the clubhouse for use by anyone who may require it while at the Golf Club.
As Richard steps down from his role as chairman we wish him, the incoming chairperson and all the seniors the very best for the future. Keep enjoying the golf everyone and a big thank you!
