The pictures in David Coser’s book – “Steel and Sky” – were taken over a seven year period, starting when he first took up photography in February 2019.
He said: “The images are a mixture of monochrome and colour and feature places like the Headland, Marina and Seaton Carew. In the past, I have been a finalist in both regional and national competitions and my work has been featured on the BBC and Sky Arts.”
David – who describes the book as “street photography” – continued: “I do photography as a passion and I am so pleased with the book. It has been a labour of love over many years. I am hoping to sell the book in Christchurch Gallery, in Hartlepool, and all profits will be going to a mental health group in the town.”
The book, when published, will be 102 pages long and 210mm square, containing approximately 370 photographs of Hartlepool.
He added: “It is something which has never been done before and it showcases the beautiful town and people. I just hope I have done it justice… I think it will be interesting for people to see the town as I see it through my viewfinder. I bring a calmness and tranquility even when it’s busy.”
