Sometimes it may feel like we haven’t installed for a while but the amount of planning and negotiation takes time. Not only are new installations important but, once installed, we need to keep to our strict maintenance schedule which takes a huge effort, not only from the Trustees but also our fantastic Guardians.
The last couple of weeks have seen three new defibrillators installed – taking our total to 88 – still 12 to go to reach our 100-installation mark!
On 22 June, we were proud to install a new defibrillator on the Highlight Active Wellbeing Hub.
On 14 July, we installed at the junction of Bamburgh Rd and Castle Howard Close, in Clavering.
On 15 July, we relocated the West View Project defibrillator to its new permanent home on a mini lamp post, at the junction of Bruce Crescent and Winterbottom Avenue – thus ensuring that, once again, it is 24/7 accessible.
Please remember to always call 999 in an emergency – it is the call handler who will direct you to the nearest emergency ready defibrillator and give you the access code.
The day to day running of the charity, alongside organising the summer raffle and our upcoming Charity Day, is keeping us on our toes. The charity day sees some great local acts, who are giving their time free of charge, and, with Les Watts as compere, it is sure to be a memorable day. Our community is terrific in the support it gives us and, as always, a massive “thank you”. If you haven’t done so already, please buy a raffle ticket or Charity Day event ticket – there are some great prizes to be won and the raffle will be drawn at the event. Help us make 16 August about the community and make it a day of celebration – for what is a huge community achievement of which we should all be proud!
