Hartlepool 1Hart, 1Mind, 1Future hosted the event at West Hartlepool RFC on Catcote Road.
The group’s new chair, Kathryn Hughes, said the funday was the first large event arranged by the group’s new leadership.
She said: “The purpose of the funday was to make it accessible to families who have children that may struggle at large events similar to which we have previously held. So we limited ticket numbers and staggered activities to help make it less overwhelming and more accessible for those attending. Without the support of the dedicated team of volunteers, events like Saturdays wouldn’t be possible”
The group’s new treasurer, Gemma Rhead, added: “The feedback from professionals who attended and, more importantly, the families has been really positive and encouraging and made all the hard work that went into organising the day all worth it.”
The fun day featured performances from Miss Toni’s Academy of Singing and Performing Arts, circus skills, facepainting, Cleveland Police, Cleveland Fire Brigade, Hartlepool Ambulance Charity, a bouncy castle and disco and catering provided by Buffet Bliss & Gift Hampers.
Some £490 was raised on the day which will be used to help fund future activities.
The parent carer forum meets regularly at The Peoples Centre on Tuesdays between 9.30am-11.30am as well as having a multi agency session once a month at The South Hub in Wynyard Road.
